What are the hourly requirements to be eligible for examination for an Oregon massage license?

0

Oregon requires 500 hours of education to be broken down into 200 hours of health sciences and must include Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology and Pathology and the remaining 300 hours must be comprised of Massage Theory and Practical Application, Clinical Practice, Business Development, Sanitation, Communication, Ethics and Hydrotherapy. If you meet the educational requirements, you would need to take the Oregon Practical Exam and either the NCBTMB exam or the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards MBLEx exam. If you have already passed either of these written exams, a photocopy of your results will satisfy that requirement. The board does not recognize work experience in lieu of education. If you were found to be lacking any educational hours or subject matter, you would need to obtain that additional education before being able to sit for the practical exam. You can obtain your education through as many schools as you wish, as long as you are taking certified classes. Per OAR 3
