What are the hotels like?
I have tried to make a succinct description of each location. Please also see the links portion of this website for the actual site for the hotel as well as the guided tour portion of the website which should have our own images. Oahu: Maile Sky Court – A high rise hotel with small, comfortable rooms located at the end of the Waikiki strip. Very easy for transportation and walking distance to the international market place, shops and restaurants. Rooms vary in views, however, each perspective is unique and breathtaking. Hawaii: Uncle Billy’s – More of a traditional style hotel located right on Hilo Bay. It features large rooms, a walking garden and walking distance to Ken’s House of Pancakes, our favorite place to eat in the islands. My favorite part about Uncle Billy’s is the lobby with its open air and comfortable chairs… its a perfect place to be after a long day in the field. Kauai: Best Western Plantation Hale – This is by far the nicest place we stay. The rooms are comfortable,
Hotels in Mongolia are star-rated by international standard, from one star to five stars. A 4-star hotel is just like Holiday Inn, Days Inn, etc. in the United States, or better: private bathrooms with tubs, TV, central air conditioning, direct long distance calls, restaurants service meals around-the-clock, post, shops, sauna, fitness, commercial center and beauty parlor are also available.
Morocco has a developing tourist industry and small hotels and auberges with character are appearing throughout the country. We try, where possible, to use small hotels (from basic gites to comfortable guest houses) and to avoid the larger mass market places that are often less than inspiring. On most tours we try to spend a night in a very basic local house to illustrate how Berber families live and at the same time to give something back to the communities through which we pass.
Phnom Penh and Siem Reap (near Angkor Wat) offer the best selection of hotels ranging from mini hotels to deluxe properties. Beach resorts located along the southern coastline are relatively new and under-developed. In the outlying areas, accommodation normally ranges from 1 to 2 stars. Most hotels have private bath/shower, AC, mini bar, a safety deposit box and a television. As hotels are constantly under renovation and new properties are continually being developed, we endeavor to provide our clients with the most up-to-date information regarding accommodation. We selects accommodation appropriate to the type of programs offered and the client’s preference. This can vary greatly from select boutique hotels bursting with character and charm to luxury beach resorts.
