Sunday, August 2 is Family Day at the 30th National. A family of four can enter the National on Sunday for a flat admission fee of $25. There will be lots of great activities for everyone from free Ferris Wheel rides on the I-X Center huge indoor Ferris Wheel to free autographs from former Cleveland Browns players Greg Pruitt and Lee Suggs. Several of the National’s Corporate sponsors will be set up in front of the Ferris Whel with activities and giveaways for Family Day attendees. All Family Day tickets will also include free raffle tickets and the entire event will culminate with great free raffle drawings at 2PM. Memorabilia items and other gifts will be given away. Federal agents investigating fraud in the sports memorabilia business roamed the aisles of the National Sports Collectors Convention for the second consecutive year, issuing subpoenas to hobby executives for auction invoices and other records. Two agents – one from the FBI, the other from the United States Postal Service – also questioned auction house officials, dealers and authenticators on Friday and yesterday at the National, the hobby’s largest annual sports memorabilia show, held this year at the International Exposition Center near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
