What are the “Hot” Career Paths for Nurses With Advanced Degrees?
In addition to the stronger career opportunities for nurses with BSNs at the beginning of their careers and for Nursing Ph.D.s nearing their senior-level years, what are some of the other “hot” nursing specialties? According to Fuller, some of the most in-demand nursing specialties include Nursing Informatics (see previous article here), certified nurse practitioners (CNPs; especially Family, Acute Care, and Adult Practitioners), Doctorate of Nurse Practice (DNPs; this is an Advanced Practice specialty which includes highly specialized practice areas such as Nurse Anesthetists), Ph.D.s in Nursing, Forensic Nurse Specialists, and Clinical Nurse Leaders.
