They have to file all records of birth with the county, so one way or the other you may be able to track down the info. This is how we are able to get copies of birth certificates when they are lost. I found these hospitals in Cameron County: Brownsville Medical Center – West Brownsville Dolly Vinsant Hospital – Rio Hondo Rio Grande State Center – Harlingen South Texas Hospital – Harlingen Valley Baptist Hospital – Harlingen Valley Regional Medical Center – West Brownsville But you may have to check the Cameron County property or tax records for Hospitals that were operating specifically in 1955 to make sure you are not missing anything.
