What are the Honours Science extra curricular activities?
Extra-curricular activities in Honours Science are driven partly by student interest and so vary from year to year. A one and a half hour time slot is reserved for Honours Science students on Friday afternoons and is used for guest speakers, mathematics competition preparation sessions, a math reading group as well as numerous social activities. Recent excursions have included trips to the Body Worlds exhibition, the McGill University Biology, Physics and Chemistry Laboratories, the Hydro Quebec Generating Facilities at Beauharnois, The Ottawa Science Museum and Museum of Art, and the Bombardier Manufacturing Plant in Valcourt. This spring will see Honours Science students on a trip to New York City with visits to sites of both scientific and cultural interest. Generally, we strive to have three or four off-campus student trips per year.
