What are the historical points on Grand Bahama Island?
The settlement of West End is considered one of the historical points on the island of Grand Bahama, West End is renowned for its involvement as a trans-shipment center for liquor during prohibition. The Star Hotel is also located in West End, the first hotel to be built in Grand Bahama. The Lucayan National Park is also another historical point on Grand Bahama, because of its two main large caves that are connected to the largest explored underwater cavern. Skeletal remains of the Lucayan Indians were found in approximately six feet of water, just outside of Ben’s Caves, in a sink hole referred to as the Lucayan Indian’s Burial Ground.
