What are the hazards that a Blast protection window should eliminate?
There are three types of hazards that should be reduced by using a protective glazing system: 1. Fragmentation of the window’s glass and frames. 2. Secondary fragmentation of objects located in the room (such as furniture, computer screens, light fixtures, and vases) created by blast infiltration into the building. 3. High infiltrating blast pressures cause irreversible damage and injuries to people inside the building. Arpal Defender’s products eliminate or greatly reduce all three of these hazards. Windows are designed to partially collapse at a blast event. The window deformation may create some openings between the window frame and the wall or between the glass and the frame; however, the Blast infiltration through these openings is minimal and not sufficient to create the aforementioned hazards. This is due to the slow reaction time of the window in comparison with the duration of the blast. Arpal Defender has proven this through measurements in many blast tests. Q.How do your pro
