What are the Hamiltonianism and Hamiltonian solutions?
This was selected as Best Answer My understanding of Hamiltonianism is that the term is used for those who seek and active, large centralized government based on the ideas of Alexander Hamilton. Hamilton was especially interested in centralized banking. During the Constitutional debates, Hamilton was one that wanted the strong central government. He wanted policies that would allow that to occur. He was opposed by those who wanted power in the States rather than the central authority. A compromise was made in finding a balance between the two. I have not heard the term “Hamiltonian solutions” before. My assumption is that these are solutions that focus on a an active central government taking initiative in providing the policy and solutions to situations. It would amount to the central authority actively making policy and having pre-emptive authority over the those of the State government both in terms of policy and its implementation. Using the term “Hamiltonian” implies that solution
