What are the guidelines for setting up swap space ?
In SunOS 4.x the amount of swap space and Virutal memory are one in the same so you need at least as much swap as real memory. In SunOS 5.x the amount of Virutal memory is equal swap space plus real memory. Under SunOS 5.x you can actually get away with having no swap space at all(note: I have not tried this). The old rule of thumb is 1.5 to 2 times real memory. This can lead to wasted disk space(by having too much swap space) or to not having enough. What you need to do is to estimate your swap space needs. Note: This question is still being worked on.
