What are the guidelines for residential garbage collection?
Household Waste is collected twice a week from containers at curbside and will not be collected from behind fences or locked gates, in garages, carports or storage areas. Garbage cans must be visible, accessible, in one location, and no larger than a 32-gallon container. Personal effects not intended for collection should be kept away from the collection area. Garbage cans used for storage bins should not be in the collection area. Collectors will not enter an area where dogs are present. Occupants must provide a safe and convenient area for collection of household garbage. Bag waste materials before placing in the garbage cans. Items that won’t fit in cans should be placed at curbside. Homeowners are responsible for taking cans to curbside and returning the cans to their usual location. Containers, trash or yard waste must be placed behind the curb, not in the gutter or street. Garbage and yard waste must be separated. – Cardboard boxes, furniture, appliances or similar bulky items mu
