What are the guidelines for making a Stop Payment in online banking and Call-24?
• Stop payments are valid for 6 months. • RFCU’s standard Stop payment fee will automatically be debited from your checking account. • Stop payments can be placed on your checking and money market checks. • To place a stop payment on an individual check, enter the same check number as the beginning and ending number. • To place a stop payment on a series of checks, enter the first check number as the beginning number and the last check number as the ending number. In order to prevent being charged another stop payment fee, make sure you include the entire series of checks that should be stopped. • Stop payments are not guaranteed on non credit union items. Examples: Checks by phone and paper drafts. • Checks are stopped by the actual check number. If you have multiple checks with the same check numbers, those checks will be stopped also for the next 6 months. • To release a stop payment, please contact the Member Connect Center at 256-837-6110 x3640 or 800-234-1234 x3640.
