What are the greatest challenges to youth health and rights?
The greatest challenges to youth health and rights are tradition and education. The community I live in sees little importance in the contribution of girls to the community’s development, and boys are given more respect irrespective of the situation. Most of the young girls in my community don’t attain education beyond secondary school. Less than forty percent of girls continue from elementary to secondary school, and less than half of those girls finally reach a tertiary institution. This hampers the much needed progress in ensuring the human rights of girls. How are you making the world safer and healthier for youth? I work to advocate for the use of contraceptives and good quality education for girls. I was trained by a non-governmental organization in Lagos, Nigeria. What are you dreams for yourself and for the world’s youth? I dream of a world where men and women will be equal regardless of culture or tradition. >>Read more submissions from young people worldwide Vision submitted
