What are the grade requirements to transfer credits to UMBC? Do grades transfer?
UMBC requires a grade of “C” or better for transfer credit from private and out-of-state institutions. For Maryland community colleges and University System of Maryland institutions, we will transfer coursework in which a grade of “D” or better is earned. Note that courses in which a grade of “D” is earned cannot be used to fulfill major requirements, and can only be applied towards general foundation requirements if they are transferred as part of a completed general education package from a Maryland community college.
