What are the good and the bad things about IGCSE here in Egypt or in general?
The good thing is that IGCSE helps to make students more educated. If you compare an IGCSE student to any Thanaweyya Amma student, you find that IGCSE student is more educated and has more information than Thanaweyya Amma student. The bad thing is that some IGCSE students think that it’s a certificate they can get if they pay some money and that’s all, while the truth is that if they try to benefit from IGCSE, it’ll be better for them of course. As a system, I think that it can be better if it’s steadier for a long time. So there has to be co-operation between the ministry of education and Cambridge University, because sometimes there were changes they made to the rules and applied them to third year students and it was very unfair to them because by that time, they had already determined and chose their subjects to study.
