What are the goals of CSLC?
The Council will work to identify and build consensus on the major issues facing the charter school community. Part of this process will be the development of a common issue agenda and set of priorities. Ultimately, the Council will disseminate to the media, the policymaking world, and others a strong, united pro-charter voice. This will take many forms, including consensus positions on major federal legislation and state-level actions; coordinated responses to studies, reports, and news items; and joint statements at press events and conferences. In short, the Council will become the consensus voice of charter school advocates and thereby play a major role in the public discussion of charters and the establishment of the charter school policy agenda.
