What are the goals of Child Labor Elimination projects?
The overarching goal of USDOL is to work toward the elimination of the worst forms of child labor internationally. All USDOL-funded projects are aimed at achieving this objective. Thus, in addition to providing direct education and training opportunities to children withdrawn from work and those at risk of engaging in exploitive work, the Child Labor Elimination Projects generally seek to: withdraw or prevent children from involvement in exploitive child labor through the provision of direct educational services; strengthen policies on child labor and education, the capacity of local and national institutions to combat child labor, and formal and transitional education systems that encourage children engaged in or at-risk of engaging in exploitive labor to attend school; raise awareness about exploitative child labor and of the importance of education for all children and mobilize a wide array of actors to improve and expand education infrastructures; support research and the collectio
