What are the Giving Tree and the Brick Fundraiser, and will my contribution make a difference?
The Giving Tree was established in the fall of 2004 to encourage parents to support long term projects at Sunset Elementary through individual donations. The Brick Fundraiser was established in 2008. The funds are safeguarded by SEED to be applied to each Sunset Program for which the funds were donated. Contributions continue to make a difference -reading intervention programs, Hands On Minds On Lab, math manipulatives and textbooks, science materials, upgrades to Sunset’s sound system in the cafeteria, innovative projects and curricular initiatives have been funded by SEED. Proceeds from the Brick Campaign are held by SEED and will be applied to each Sunset program for which they were donated. Q: How have the funds raised been used? A: During the past two years, SEED has funded technology for multidisciplinary project-based learning initiatives, teacher professional development programs, math manipulatives, science kits, beautification, new math curriculum, Visual Thinking Strategies
