The Blue Mountains in southeast Australia are abundant in eucalyptus trees. The famous “outback” refers to the mostly desert interior of the country. Of all the world’s contintent’s, Australia has some of the ‘oldest’ rocks known over 3.8 billion years old and includes rock types from all geological time periods in Earth’s history.
