What are the general requirements for bedroom windows in one and two unit dwellings?

0

A. Bedroom windows are required to be openable, with an unobstructed area (no obstructing hardware) of not less than 0.35m⊃; (3.8ft⊃;) and no dimension less than 380mm (15″). All windows serving bedrooms must meet these requirements unless the bedroom and building being served is sprinklered. Please note that these requirements are in addition to the bedroom window meeting the requirements of Article 9.7.1.1. of the National Building Code of Canada 1995 (Glass Areas for Rooms in Residential Occupancies).
