What are the general criteria reviewed during the certification process?
Third party certification means your company’s ownership structure and operations have been reviewed by a government agency or private nonprofit organization to meet the following criteria: At least 51% of the business or stock is owned by an ethnic group member(s) or woman. Further, that ownership interest must control and operate the business. “Control” means actively having the power to make policy decisions and “operated” means involved in the day-to-day management of the business.
