What are the GA TAPP and the One Year Supervised Practicum Programs?
Both the Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program and the One Year Supervised Practicum Programs are “alternative” routes to certification. Go to www.mresa.org for specific details on each of those programs. Cobb County only accepts applications from GA TAPP candidates in the areas of math, science, foreign language and special education. Those candidates must have been accepted into the program and must have completed the “Essentials of Effective Teaching” course. Cobb County will accept applications from candidates for the One Year Supervised Practicum in those same areas and then in other subject areas ONLY on an as needed basis.
