Section 505 of the Veterans Education and Benefits Expansion Act of 2001, Public Law 107-103 prohibits the payment of benefits to VA beneficiaries while they are fugitive felons and also prohibits payments to dependents of a veteran who is a fugitive felon. However, children of a fugitive surviving spouse may receive benefits in their own right.
