What are the four holes in the corners of the inserts for?
This is a “universal” mounting plate which means it is made for several vendors with different specs. If you wanted to permanently mount the insert into the table you would use the four countersunk holes in the corners of the plate. You would be interested in permanently mounting the insert if you had a router that allow you to make above the table bit changes like the triton or Freud routers.
