Part of the technical assistance developed to support districts as they work to fully implement the Iowa Core Curriculum will include professional development for teachers to understand the important role of “assessment for learning” and improve assessment practices and inform instruction, as well as increase students’ access to useful information about their educational progress. Based upon tentative timelines, technical assistance is being planned to be delivered during the 2009-2010 school year.
