What are the five most potentially fascinating scientific things being considered in science today?
I find animal testing alternatives fascinating. In the past, and still today, most people believed that animal testing was the only way to test drugs, household products, cosmetics, etc. Many have come to find that this is unnecessary and often yields bad results. They are now using computer simulations, cell/tissue cultures, etc. Another thing that is pushing the envelope is that some scientists are toying with the idea of growing meat in a lab. This would end the unnecessary cruelty of factory farm animals, and it would greatly benefit the environment, helping to slow global warming.
