What are the first steps to starting an online business?
I think the first steps are defining your online business: what will it encompass? what are the goals of the business? how will you measure your progress toward these goals? How will you make money? If you are moving an existing business online and all these ideas are already defined, I would move onto creating a list of requirements for what the online version of your store would encompass. I would also encourage you to try to find a mentor, someone who’s done this before who would be willing to answer your questions and guide you in the requirements gathering process. Once you have all these ideas down, it would benefit you to see if any similar businesses exist out there. If they do, spend some time perusing their sites and learning how they do things.
