What are the first steps business owners can do to comply with the Law?
• Remove all indoor ashtrays and smoking receptacles • Move all outdoor ashtrays and smoking receptacles at least 20 feet away from entrances • Post the required “No Smoking” signs at every entrance into your establishment Business proprietors have the option of ordering signage free of charge OR creating their own “No Smoking” signs. Please keep in mind that all “No Smoking” signs must include the following information and are the appropriate size: • International “no smoking” symbol (consisting of a pictorial representation of a burning cigarette enclosed in a red circle with a red bar across it) or the words “NO SMOKING” ; • A citation to A.R.S. § 36-601.01 • The telephone number for making complaints (1-877-4-AZNOSMOKE, 1-877-429-6676) • The website address for making complaints (smokefreearizona.org); • No smaller than 4″x6″ for signs posted at entrances of enclosed public places and non-vehicle places of employment • No smaller than 2″x3″ for signs posted in business vehicles • F
