What are the findings of the NFSS screening level ecological risk assessment?
For radionuclides, the Department of Energy’s Guide to Biota Dose Assessment indicated that there are not any concentrations of radionuclides on NFSS that would result in an unacceptable radiological dose (as defined by the International Atomic Energy Commission) to any ecological receptors. For chemicals, several chemicals failed the very conservative screening steps (i.e., metals in surface water).
