What are the financial arrangements/commitments involved in concurrent enrollment programs?
State funding supporting concurrent enrollment courses allows for a 40/60 split of revenues: 40% going to the receiving site and 60% going to the originating site. Concurrent enrollment moneys may only be used for support of concurrent enrollment program, not for unrelated programs. Students eligible for fee waivers may seek waiver of CE fees and text books, and these costs may be unreimbursed by the State or the District and thus be an expense to the school. The moneys received from the State for students enrolled in CE courses may be used to cover fee waivers. Part of the agreement between the high school and the college/university may provide for the high school adjunct teacher’s attendance at university academic department training, and there may be costs associated with travel and providing a substitute teacher to cover the adjunct teacher’s absence.
