What are the fees for Mohs surgery, and is it covered by insurance?
The surgical fees for Mohs Surgery were established several years ago in line with what was accepted by Blue Shield of the National Capital Area as reasonable and customary at that time. We have tried to keep the cost of medical care at a reasonable level, and have not changed or raised the fees for Mohs surgery since 1990. We believe the fees to be within the reasonable and customary value for most standard insurance companies. This is not to say that your insurance company, whichever it may be, will pay for the entire procedure, and in such event you will be responsible for the remaining amount. We file a claim for the surgical fees directly to your primary insurance company for you. We do not file your secondary insurance, except when your primary insurance is Medicare.
