What are the federal and provincial government priorities?
In 2007, the Government of Canada announced focused research priorities through the document, Mobilizing Science and Technology to Canada’s Advantage. Four priority areas were set out: environmental science and technologies; natural resources and energy; health and related life sciences and technologies; and information and communications technologies. Provincially, the Government of Alberta has established four priority areas under the banner of Alberta Innovates. These priority areas are: bio; energy and environment; health; and technology commercialization.
