What are the features of METRO stations?
User friendly elevated stations and fully accessible to physically challenged people through provision of special lifts The station will be designed on three levels – Road level, Concourse Level and Platform level Two sets of covered staircase & up & down escalators are proposed on both sides of roads on footpath leading to concourse level Concourse Level area is divided into Non- Paid area and Paid area Non-Paid area will have facilities like ticketing counters, ticket vending machines, gates for entry/ exit & other facilities like retail outlets, ATMs, toilets etc The Paid area will be accessible for valid ticket holders only and gives an access to platforms Operational efficiency is achieved by making access points, all concourse and other public areas visible from the Station Control Room through which monitoring of public spaces, passenger flow at escalators etc can be done
