What are the fastest/most expensive Japanese sports cars?
As far as I am aware the most expensive Japanese sports car to reach the mass market would have been the Honda NSX. They were about £70k when new, so probably just a bit more than the latest Nissan GT-R. As for fastest, tricky one to answer as an agreement between the major manufacturers limited power to around 270bhp. However, despite claiming that they were at that power many cars were tested afterwards and were found to actually be more than that. Traditionally though the Nissan Skylines have proven to be particularly quick in standard form and amazing when tuned (200mph+ in some cases). But if you’re talking tuned Japanese cars then Toyota Supras are up there also, while Evos and Imprezas around a track will give most things a run for their money. So probably no definitive answer really. NSX would answer one part, but ‘fastest’ part I wouldn’t want to commit an answer to. My hunch would say Skyline (probably R34 GTR, of latest GTR).
