The second “People on the Move” culture conference at the Federal Foreign Office discussed ways to inject fresh momentum into German cultural relations policy. In his opening speech, Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier stressed that cultural relations was a kind of bridge-building exercise designed to generate understanding. An increasingly complex world full of new conflicts demands greater efforts in promoting European values, Steinmeier explained.
