What are the expectations for host schools?
Host schools are expected to provide support to exchange teachers, and they should recognize that this can require both time and patience. The key responsibilities for host schools are to help exchange teachers become comfortable and successful in their classrooms, to make them comfortable as a part of the faculty and school community, and to help them understand and appreciate the aspects that makes their host communities unique and special. Exchange teachers inevitably return to their home countries defining the United States from their experiences in their host communities. In school, exchange teachers will need guidance understanding schedules, developing experience with activity-based education and classroom management, a
