What are the exit costs to the homeowner – i.e. when we sell the unit, and to whom are these fees paid; the Panamanian government, the municipality, the Shore Club property management company?
When you sell your unit, the tax implications vary according to whether the unit is under your name personally or a corporation. The implications of this are best explored with a qualified Panamanian lawyer and or accountant. Should you need a recommendation by all means, let us know. Typically the tax involved is a 2% transfer tax payable by the Seller. There is no Municipality tax and no Shore Club HOA fee, no Property Management fee or penalty or any other fees payable. A tip to the doorman on your way out, perhaps!
