What are the exemptions for OWF (Ohio Works First)?

0

None. Erie County deals with what a person CAN do and not what they CAN’T do. We do not accept a doctor’s slip to exempt someone from the OWF work requirements of thirty (30) hours per week for one parent families, thirty-five (35) to fifty-five (55) hours for two parent families. We will place someone in a work assignment which is conducive to what a person is capable of doing. We will also have a client cooperate with BVR (The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation), job search, GED (General Education Degree) classes, education, training or any other component which will enable the individual to regain his or her employability and become self-sufficient.
