The water levels are expected to return to previous levels. Previous in Ontario and elsewhere has observed that the water levels recover and return. As well, the vast majority of wells in the York Region are unaffected by the dewatering. The water that is removed is fed into local water ways. This is being done in accordance with the monitoring and well interference water supply replacement requirements of the Ministry of the Environment, as outlined when it issued the Permit to Take Water that allowed the dewatering process to begin.
