What are the entry requirements for Medical School?

0

Entry requirements for undergraduate degrees are set by the individual medical schools – full details of which Universities run medical programmes and their entry requirements and application procedures are available on the University and College Admissions Service website. All students will be expected to hold good GCSE grades in English, science based subjects and mathematics. Good passes in three or more ‘A’ Level subjects are normally required; with preference given to Chemistry and Biology. Some Universities accept two ‘AS’ Levels (including chemistry) instead of one science ‘A’ level. In addition ‘A’ Level physics, a physical science or maths is often required. A small proportion of Universities will accept a vocational ‘A’ level (AVCE) in a relevant subject, such as Health and Social Care. A good grade in one ‘A’ Level art subject might be accepted instead of a science ‘A’ Level. However, students with only art based ‘A’ Levels are normally required to sit a one-year foundation
