What are the enrollment projections in District 202?

0

District 202 continues to grow faster than any large school district in Illinois. With nearly 25,000 students currently enrolled (preschool through 12th grade), it is the states fifth-largest school district, and has grown by nearly 2,800 students since the end of the 2004-05 school year. The district projects it will continue to grow by an average of 2,600 students yearly through the 2010-11 school year. The projected district-wide enrollment in five years is nearly 37,000, which is 13,000 students more than the districts current enrollment. If the referendum is not successful, the enrollment is expected to exceed capacity at certain schools during the 2007-08 school year. By the 2010-11 school year, the district is projected to be nearly 9,500 seats short.
