What are the employment requirements to apply to the Department of Public Safety?
Eligibility requirements for Heath Department of Public Safety applicants are established by the City of Heath, and by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education. Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of testing. Applicants must be United States citizens. Applicants must be free of disease or physical/mental defects that would prevent the individual from performing the essential duties of a police officer. Applicants must be currently certified by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) at minimum, as a Basic Peace Officer. Applicants must be currently certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection at minimum, as a Basic Firefighter.
