What are the eligibility requirements?
To be eligible you must: • attend an Information Session • have a well thought out business concept • have a business concept that is new to you (conversion of a hobby into a business is acceptable) • be currently receiving Employment Insurance or have received EI benefits within the last 3 years or parental benefits in the last 5 years • be able to devote at least 35 hours per week or 140 hours per month to your business for the duration of the program (48 weeks). • have between $4,000 – 5,000 in cash and/or assets to invest immediately into the business.
Eligibility requirements for each opportunity are as follows: IRMC CIO Certificate Program and Follow-On Scholarships: For the IRMC CIO Certificate Program with follow-on scholarship at a partner CAE/IAE, civilian applicants must be a GS/GM-13 or above and military applicants, O-5 or above. GS-12s and O-4s may have the grade requirement waived with a strong justification signed by their supervisors. The waiver must document the applicant’s ability to work at higher grade levels. Additionally, all applicants must have an earned bachelor’s degree with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent. Applicants who have an earned master’s degree must have attained a grade point average of 3.2 out of 4.0, or equivalent. All applicants must possess no lower than a Secret clearance.
