What are the eligibility requirements to become a certified interpreter?
You must • be at least 18 years old and possess a high-school diploma or equivalent at the time the application is submitted; and • not have a criminal conviction that could be grounds for denial, suspension, revocation, or other disciplinary action; and • pass the requisite examination for the certification level sought, which may be • the Test of English Proficiency (TEP), or • a performance test.
