What are the eligibility requirements to attend traffic school?
You had a valid driver’s license at the time you were cited. You are not currently attending, and have not attended a traffic school program in California within any 18 month period calculated from violation date to violation date. Your citation does not involve alcohol or drugs. Your case does not contain a Failure to Appear or Civil Assessment. You were not driving a commercial vehicle or hold a commercial driver’s license. A speeding violation cannot be more than 25 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. Pedestrian, bicycle, fix-it, registration, seatbelt, city and county ordinances, skateboarding violations are not eligible for traffic school. Your citation does not involve an accident. If the citation contains a combination of one moving violation of the vehicle code and one or more fix-it violations, all the fix-it violations must be cleared before your are eligible for traffic school referral.
