What are the eligibility requirements for reciprocity certification in Nevada?
Eligibility requirements 1. You come from a reciprocity state or approved federal program as an equivalent to a Nevada Category I peace officer (jail and prisons generally don’t qualify unless there is no difference in the certification) 2. Your Basic certification or license has never been suspended or revoked 3. Less than 60 months has lapsed since leaving the reciprocity state as a peace officer and being hired as a Nevada peace officer (Category I or II) 4. Pass the state physical fitness test battery within 16 weeks of your date of hire as a Nevada peace officer. 5. If approved for reciprocity certification by POST, you successfully complete the 80 hour In-Lieu certification training program. 6. Pass the written state certification examination 7. All this must be completed within one year from your date of hire.
