If your school is like mine, you should just be able to pick up a registration form sometime next spring and register for the tests you want to take. If not, you can register through the college board website. There’s no eligibility requirement to take an AP exam; the only requirement is that you pay. My only caveat to you is that the AP exams can be extremely difficult if you haven’t taken an in-depth AP level class (with dbq’s, essays, and practice exams). I know that I never would have considered taking the AP USH exam if I had only taken an honors US history course. Of course, it depends on how long ago you learned the material and how in-depth you studied. I would ask your honors teachers if they think the work you did in class was enough to prepare you to take the exam without taking an AP class.
