What are the eligibility criteria for claimants in unemployment hotspots?
Some of the jobs will be targeted specifically at unemployment hotspots, which are defined in two ways. Firstly, as an area where the unemployment count is 1.5% above the national average. In these instances, the bidder should have shown clear workings and evidence that the geographical area they have chose qualifies as a hotspot. Secondly as a Local Authority District (LAD) where the Employment and Support Allowance/Incapacity Benefit (ESA/IB) count is 3% above the national average. In these instances, DWP is responsible for identifying which LADs meet this criteria. You should contact the Future Jobs Fund team if you are interested in any of your jobs being available to customers living in eligible LADs.
