What are the effects on fat tissue?
There is no direct effect on fat cells, because these only store nutrients. Radiation stimulates the metabolism of all irradiated cells to synthesize their products, but for this synthesis to occur, ATP formation is required, and this will require nutrients found within the fat stored, which promotes body mass reduction. The reduction of fat mass may be evidenced by bioimpedance.
