Unfortunately, the children are mostly affected by the use of pesticides. Children are basically growing, their immune system are not yet develop to resist infections. It also blocks the absorption of important nutrients that is essential for their growth and development. Exposure to pesticides is also thought of as one of the risk factors associated with condition such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and cancer. Here are some ways to limit our exposure to pesticides and minimize its effects in our lives: 1. Select carefully the fresh fruits and vegetables available in the market. Wash and scrub thoroughly the food items. Rubbing fruits and vegetables produce friction and abrasive effect that will somehow remove the pesticides used. Do not use soap, just running water will do. 2. Peel and trim.
